Covid-19 Update 23-09-20

CORONAVIRUS (COVID-19) SAFETY POLICY

Whilst your next visit to the hotel may be slightly different, the health and safety of all our guests and staff are, as always, our top priority, and we have implemented some new procedures to ensure a safe and worry-free visit to the hotel. As of the 24th September, further measures have been put in place in line with the most recent guidelines.

We would reassure you that each member of our team have received full training on all our new operating procedures, including the correct use of Personal Protection Equipment, and Risk Assessments have been completed for all aspects of our business.

What to expect

For our residents:

  • All guests must scan our NHS QR Code using your smart phone on your arrival at the hotel to assist with the NHS Test & Trace programme.
  • A face covering must be worn in all public areas of the hotel unless you are seated at a table to eat or drink, or unless you are exempt under medical grounds.
  • We have introduced an online check-in process to reduce the contact time with our Reception team on arrival.
  • On top of our already high cleaning & hygiene standards, our housekeeping team will give additional attention to all the high touch areas within our bedrooms. Rooms will not be serviced during your stay however additional in-room supplies can be provided by contacting our Reception team.  Once vacated, rooms will be sanitised using a fogger and also deep cleaned, ready for the next arrivals.
  • A plated Cumbrian breakfast will be available, along with a Grab & Go option. We would kindly ask you to pre-order your requirements the night prior.

For our diners:

  • We will be operating with a reduced lunch and dinner menu, alongside our Specials Board, still providing our usual home-cooked, high quality dishes. We would encourage our guests to pre-order however you can still order once you have been seated if you prefer.  Our menus are available to view on our website and can also be viewed using our QR Code however paper copies will still be available on request.
  • The maximum table size will be for 6 people.
  • Face coverings must be worn on arrival at the hotel until you have taken your seat, and whilst moving around the public areas.
  • All guests must scan our NHS QR Code using your smart phone on your arrival at the hotel to assist with the NHS Test & Trace programme.
  • The restaurant and bar must be closed by 10pm and last orders will be at 9.30pm.
  • All tables must be pre-booked either online or by calling the hotel on 01228 522887. Tables have been spaced to maintain social distancing however, as this reduces the number of tables available, we would advise guests to book as early as possible to avoid disappointment.
  • Table service will be provided at all times, we would kindly ask you not to wait at the bar. All waiting staff will be provided with masks and all tables and chairs will be sanitised after each use.

Public Areas:

  • A face covering must be worn in all public areas of the hotel unless you are seated at a table to eat or drink, or unless you are exempt under medical grounds.
  • All guests must scan our NHS QR Code using your smart phone on your arrival at the hotel to assist with the NHS Test & Trace programme.
  • Hand sanitising stations are available at all entrances to the hotel as well as throughout our public areas and all guests are encouraged to use these regularly, in addition to regular hand washing.
  • Increased frequency of cleaning and sanitising will take place throughout all public areas, with particular attention to all high touch surfaces such as entrances, door handles, reception desk, handrails and public toilets.
  • Perspex screens have been installed on both the hotel and restaurant reception desks and throughout our dining areas.
  • Toilet facilities will be available in the lounge area and will operate on a one-in and one-out policy. We would encourage hotel residents to use their bedroom toilet facilities where possible to assist with social distancing.

We respectfully request that all our customers comply with the latest guidance on social distancing and please respect our right to control distancing throughout the hotel.  Any customer that is disregarding the latest guidance may be required to leave the property.

If either yourself or any member of your household are experiencing symptoms of Covid-19 then please contact us to either cancel or postpone your visit to the hotel.

We will continue to monitor the latest government guidelines to ensure the highest level of safety for our guests and team members and we will update this communication if necessary.  Whilst we will be taking all reasonable steps to prevent any changes to your booking, we cannot accept any responsibility or liability for circumstances beyond our control.
